Simple Definition of a Web Hosting Company 🧠

Typical Web hosting companies offer website or email hosting services. These subscription internet-based businesses give you a foundation to build websites or manage emails for yourself or clients.

This works as the web hosting company has “slots” of space on their servers that allow websites and emails to be housed here. The Majority of web hosting packages that are often are primarily shared hosting, dedicated packages, VPS, or reseller hosting. Read more here how to find out how to pick the best web hosting company.

Keep this definition in mind of renting out slots on a server. This slot as mentioned has allocated space for you to do whatever you need on the Internet. From creating WordPress Websites, HTML Websites, or any type of website and managing emails.

These services are often very user friendly and intuitive with great customer support teams. What Are Web Hosting Servers? You might ask, well in short these are computers with large amounts of storage capable of helping connect users to websites. You get a slice of this server storage to house whatever you feel. Another thing to consider is how big your website is, as there are packages that fit all users needs from the small food blog to a massive corporation. Smaller websites tend to stick with the basic Shared Hosting packages. With bigger websites the other web hosting packages such as Dedicated hosting, Cloud Hosting, Virtual Private Servers (VPS) are the route to take to handle all the files on your website.

Bare in mind that most packages often times have limitations to how many domains you can have. Or even how much storage the web hosting company will allow you to have on their servers.

Another awesome thing about most web hosting companies is the capability to store your domains. Paired with the storage capability. Majority of the time you’re able to purchase your domains here as well. One of the better places to house domains is Namecheap. Namecheap has incredible first time buyer deals when it comes to buying your first domains. Also the renewal rates are pretty fair as the market changes.

Another place to look is GoDaddy. They do an incredible job at being one of the biggest powerhouses in domain reselling and giving a place for domain resellers to sell domains with a broker system in-between to mitigate losses.

How Do Web Hosting Services Work? 🤔

These work when someone uploads or creates something such as a website on the web hostings servers. Then these servers take the information you uploaded and allocate memory (storage, bandwidth & RAM) to these files pushing them live however you set them up.

As for the server memory that gets allocated this is completely dependent on the package you choose when signing up to your web hosting company. To decide which package is the best for you and your projects ahead, it really isn’t rocket science. Most people tend to prefer the most bang for their buck when starting up, which is ideal in most cases. Deciding what’s best for you is really up to you. Here’s some questions to ask to make this decision easier.

Some things to ask yourself when deciding what web hosting package to choose: ❓

  • How many Websites do you plan to have in the future?
  • Does the web hosting company have expensive domain renewal prices?
  • How does this web hosting companies servers perform?
  • Is Email Hosting included in my package?
  • What Am I Building My Website With? (WordPress, HTML, CSS, etc.)

The Different Types Of Web Hosting Services 📖

  • Shared Hosting
  • Dedicated Hosting
  • Virtual Private Server Hosting (VPS)
  • Reseller Hosting
  • Cloud Hosting

Shared Hosting🥧

Shared hosting is for relatively smaller websites or standalone portfolio type websites. This type of hosting is perfect for small to medium sized websites or businesses. Traffic limitations to your websites may apply since there is less memory allocated to shared hosting packages. When you hear about shared hosting think of it as a pie and people who purchase this package get to share the storage that this “pie” has allocated on the server.

For the more serious websites/business owners this is definitely something to be aware of. You wouldn’t want to miss out on traffic or visitors that are incoming to the website. Especially if you have promotions or marketing campaigns running. Talk to your current web hosting provider if you have any questions about limitations you might have on traffic or storage.

Dedicated Hosting💾

Dedicated hosting is as the name implies. You’re able to completely rent out sections of web hosting servers. You can relatively do anything you’d like on these servers as well. Although with the cavate that it is more expensive that the average Shared Web Hosting or VPS packages. Dedicated web hosting is primarily meant for large websites that cannot afford even 1 second of down time.

Dedicated web hosting is similar to VPS in the vein that you get access to the server itself. Which allows you to have able to manage server settings. Although with dedicated servers you can get more granular and even manage the server security, the software used and everything in between. These are for the technically advanced kind of users as you have to completely manage everything alone.

Virtual Private Servers (VPS)💽

Virtual private Servers (VPS) are much larger packages that web hosting companies offer. These are also much higher in price most times. Although the capabilities you have with a VPS are endless. Think of a Virtual Private server as owning your own server. Since the way that web hosting companies work, they have dedicated sections of these servers for their VPS clients that allow you to mange the server yourself. Giving you full freedom to change server settings at will to function however you need them to.

These services are more for the advanced Web user. That wants more access but doesn’t want the higher premium rates that purchasing dedicated web hosting has.

Reseller 🏘

Think of reseller hosting as renting out a room in a house. Users on this web hosting service have a plot of land so to speak and can rent out allotted space on their account. This is beneficial for those kind of users that have a larger web hosting package than needed and are looking to share with someone or want more streams of income.

Reseller Hosting is different than affiliate programs that are often offered by most hosting companies. You would need to purchase or have an existing package with your web hosting company to participate in reseller hosting.

Cloud Hosting ☁

One of the newer kinds of Web Hosting services that is available is Cloud Hosting. Bluehost offers Cloud hosting and many other web hosting companies are following the trend. Cloud hosting in most cases offers unlimited domains, unlimited disk space, and unmetered bandwidth. It makes sense why so many companies are choosing to use this service as even larger websites with more resources are even able to use Cloud hosting. One thing to note about Cloud hosting is it can be more expensive that the average Shared hosting package.

Web Hosting Companies Review To Help Decide:

Domains And Web Hosting Go Hand In Hand 🌎

The main question people have when learning about domains is, “how do I store my domain?” then the next question is “how do I get a website built on this?”  And these are some great questions to ask when first getting started.

Domain purchases last 1 year at a time when you buy them. Most web hosting company offer discounts on pricing when you buy more years in advance. If you plan on building a life long project on the domain you purchase. It’s ideal to buy more years up front so the renewal rates dont climb up over the years as they often do.

Bare in mind that domains are often sold separately. There are companies such as iPage & Bluehost that offer free domains when you buy yearly packages. If you end up purchasing shared hosting at a monthly rate they don’t offer this and will charge you for the domain.

The best place to go for cheap domain is Namecheap. They have the best introductory pricing and competitive renewal prices. Although if you’re looking to see domain evaluations and sell domains GoDaddy is the place you want to be.

Some things to consider when looking for a place to host your website.🤔

Here’s a simple list of all the things we look for when looking for the best web hosting company. After all, it is essential to know about the company that is going to be housing your website.

Some questions to ask about your Web host:

  • What Types Of Web Hosting Services Are Offered?
  • How Is The Web Hosts Support/Staff?
  • Is there any Protection or Security Offered?
  • Where is the location of the Servers?
  • What Are their Pricing and Affordability like?
  • Does the Web Host Specialize in something?

What Types Of Web Hosting Services Are Offered?📙

There are a handful of different services a web hosting company may offer. This all is dependent on you as the customer on what kind of website you have. If you have more usual traffic to your website. It may be a good decision to go with unlimited bandwidth and unlimited storage packages. If your website is much larger and or you want more control. You may need to look into other options such as a VPS, or some form of Dedicated hosting.

Although the most affordable options and best for beginners will tend to be shared hosting packages. These kinds of packages tend to come bundled with security and website maintenance features. However, this would depend on the web hosting company you decide to choose. Web hosting companies such as Siteground, Kinsta, Dreamhost, and Nexcess are incredible at having daily backups paired with maintenance features and a very easy-to-use User Interface.

How Is The Web Hosts Support/Staff?🙋

When it comes to the way your Web Hosting company can support you this can vary from web host to web host. Some offer live inbound telephone support, live chat support, email support, or even knowledge bases articles.

Some companies may only offer specific types of support. For example, Namecheap and WPX only offer 24/7 live chat support. So it’s definitely something to consider when looking for a web hosting company.

Although in the case you see that companies have 24/7 live chat or only email support. Their support response time is typically faster than usual. Some companies such as WPX even publically make the claim that they have insanely faster than normal response rates. They state on their website they have an average of a 30-second response to their live chat. Learn more about WPX here.

Outside of only live chat and email support, this comes down to how you like to receive support from your web hosting company. If you like communicating with someone verbally there are some hosting companies that offer this as well and not only live chat or email. Such as Hostgator, BlueHost, iPage, and A2Hosting. These are a handful of companies that offer the whole spectrum of inbound telephone support, 24/7 live chat support, and email support.

Is there any Protection or Security Offered?🛡

Something that most people don’t talk about is the dark sides of the internet. One of these things being malware and any other cyber security risks. This can be a concern for some website owners as there are attacks that can happen. Typically infecting the files on your website, which can be somewhat difficult for an inexperience user to remove.

In the case, this ever happens there are web hosting companies that offer support to combat against this. They have software that either have daily scans or weekly scans to find breaches if they ever occur. On top of these scans the companies that handle these scans can usually go in and remove this malware for you. Sometimes at a cost though. Some web hosting companies don’t offer this though and you need to do this yourself. In most cases, web hosting companies are partners with other companies that offer website security and malware removal services.

Where is the location of the Servers?💻

What are Web hosting Servers? These are where your website data is stored and the closer they are to you or your ideal traffic the better.

Let’s explain a scenario so for example if you’re based in San Fransisco, CA. Let’s say this is primarily where all your traffic is coming from. And you purchased a web hosting service with servers out of London. The users that visit your website from San Francisco will have to connect to a server in London before they visit your website. With that situation in hand, you can only imagine the amount of lag time that might be caused by trying to connect to a server halfway across the world.

There are some web hosting companies that actually offer a choice of where you want your primary server to be based. A2Hosting does a great job at this. They give you the choice of choosing servers out of the United States, Australia & United Kingdom, Canada, and France.

Outside of A2Hosting, there are other options you can find online that offer this kind of feature.

Read our review here of a list of the Best Web Hosting Companies to find what company suits you best!

What Are their Pricing and Affordability like?💸

Depending on the level of service your looking for most web hosting companies can accommodate. There’s typically a wide range of pricing, sometimes more competitive than others.

The more accommodating web hosting companies that offer more affordable pricing for beginners are iPage, Hostgator, BlueHost, and A2 Hosting.

These companies offer shared hosting plans with free domains on signup. Pricing for these shared hosting plans can be anywhere from $2 a month to $15 a month. Shared hosting plans are commonly described in an analogy of a pie. Imagine the server is the pie and there are 8 slices. Anyone else who purchases shared hosting also gets a slice of this pie to share with you. So in this scenario, your web hosting company would offer you support and assistance with whatever you need. It’s also very effective for the price.

Although of course if you’re looking to manage bigger websites with more traffic than usual. There are packages that are also commonly offered such as VPS (Virtual Private Server), or  Managed Hosting. These kinds of packages are for advanced users looking to manage and maintain their own web hosting. Typically when you use these kinds of packages you are your own support team.

Does the Web Host Specialize in something?✍

Take a look at your web host to see if they’re specialists. Some Web hosting companies such as WP Engine and WPX only offer WordPress website hosting. So if you have a WordPress website and want to be optimized hosting for the best kind of performance, these companies are the place you want to be.

Other web hosting companies offer different kinds of services for gaming or things of that nature. So make sure to read what they have to offer before purchasing. It might even be a wise decision to ask the support team about what service to use if you’ve never used web hosting before.

If you would like to read our review on all these Website Hosting companies you can individually here: iPage, A2Hosting, BlueHost, Hostgator, WPX, WP Engine, Name Cheap, Kinsta, Nexcess and a few others.

In here as well, we have your best interest in mind and we’ll teach you ways on how to not overspend when it comes to your website and achieve the most bang for your buck. This is an investment that should generate a return for you or your business after all.

What’s Required To Start Building?

As mentioned before WordPress is entirely free for everyone to utilize. WordPress is open source, this software allows you the freedom to use and get started immediately.

With WordPress being free, how come there’s a price associated with building websites?

Touche, lets break it down for you as there are other factors involved when it comes down to the cost of a WordPress website and how you have to pay for things.

  • WordPress Hosting Plan
  • Websites Domain
  • Designing Process

To begin developing your WordPress website, you’ll need a hosting plan. Each and every website online has some form of hosting attached to it. Whether a shared hosting plan or self-managed hosting. This in short is the foundation of your website, let’s call it your home.

This in mind there are hundreds if not thousands of hosting plans available. So go ahead and do some shopping and choose one that you feel fits what you’re looking to accomplish online.

Next on the checklist, you’re going to need to purchase a domain name. This will be the address people will type into the internet to find your website/company. Choosing your domain name can have a dramatic impact on the way Google responds to your website, so be wary about this and do research on how to pick the perfect domain name. Typical domain names are “example.com” or “google.com.”

The next thing on the checklist after this would be to install a WordPress website template or theme. Doing this will be like laying the cement foundation for your new home to allow you to start building structure. In many instances, if you do not like the basic free themes available, you can always choose a more advanced or custom theme. Be wary though as doing this really will not have a significant impact on the way your website performs, rather only impacts the way it looks.

Once the themes situated, you can move into plugins. There are countless arrays of free plugins adding up to over 55,000+ free plugins on the WordPress platform. Simple WordPress plugins ranging from contact forms, simple slideshow galleries, and infinite other things.

So in short yes you can build your website from scratch with purely hosting and your domain. Depending on your situation you can easily have to pay for other tools and customizations. This being the main reason why it‘s confusing how much the cost is.

There are countless small business owners that ask, “how do I get started online and build my own website using WordPress?” This answer is a difficult one, because it truly is a unique answer every time. It would depend on the size of your business, your needs, and all the extra tools needed to give your business the growth online you’re looking for.

To get a rough estimate on the pricing of how much your WordPress website may be. You can add the lower budgeted rate of building your own website with the average of a WordPress website with all the extra bells and whistles.

If you’re just getting started and need a basic WordPress website that showcases your services then we’ve got you covered. Basic hosting plans with beginner hosting platforms are going to be your best bet to begin with while you get started. This will leave more money on the table for you to invest into other tools if need be.

Next on the list, you’ll need to pick out a design for the initial phase of your website. The optimal choice would be to look around for Business based WordPress themes that fit the business you are running. On another hand, you can always find responsive WordPress themes by searching the internet that meets all your criteria.

The choice is really yours when it comes to finding a free WordPress theme that matches your business. In some cases, though some businesses have highly recommended the choice of a premium WordPress theme. One that allows you more access and control over specific things, although in instances like this you have to rely a lot on the support team who developed the theme for assistance rather than Google or YouTube videos.

The selection of plugins can be a time consuming one. Whether the route of free or premium plugins, this can highly determine the route in which your website turns out. So be sure to advise a Website consultant or do your own research on WordPress plugins that solve the issues you’re having problems with.

On the topic of plugins, there are hundreds if not thousands of plugins to choose from. And this alone can be quite daunting, so if you’re not sure about paying for a plugin. We highly suggest you take advantage of the free trials involved as most if not all premium plugins have free trials. We recommend this as you can test the ins and outs of the tools to see if it actually meets your requirements.

In short, when it comes to a business website we advise to not cut corners on vital tools or spending money on expansion. This website will become an asset for your company and generate you continuous income for months and years to come. So if spending the extra money makes sense, make it happen.

Total Price To Keep Website Live: Depends on the premium plugins installed and purchased. Although on average sits between $150 – $800 per year. In some cases though can be upwards to $1,000+.

Avoid Website Overpayment and Reduce Expenditures

When it comes to getting started with your very own WordPress website, it’s recommended that you start slowly. Then start to ramp things up as your website begins to grow. It’s really not advised that you go above and beyond purchasing plugins and other “tools” to accomplish a job that you aren’t ready for yet. Although in some instances you are, and by all means, if you feel ready – go for it.

Bear in mind that your competitors are going to be nothing like your website. These other websites have had longer durations on the internet and have more ‘power’ than the average website. So do not let this discourage you to begin your website, this said because you’ll want to start small and continually grow.

It’s totally okay to start by using free templates and free WordPress plugins. Then once the website is scaling and accumulating more visitors. Then it’s your choice to move into different phases of the website. Web security, backup plugins, email marketing campaigns, paid to advertise, changing web services for optimal website functionality, and much more.

This same rule of thumb is applied to E-commerce stores as well. Start small and then as your product sells more and more. You can start to grow the website and find premium tools to help you accomplish the job at hand. Acquiring more customers with ease and making your life easier all around.

We have hoped to help you out and answered some of your questions. If you do have any further questions on how much it can cost to build a WordPress website, don’t hesitate to contact us! We’re always available and ready to take any questions or concerns!

Elementor Pricing

Getting Started With Elementor I'm Going To Show You How Simple It Is.

Inside WordPress elementor, it’s just a plug-in. In some ways, a little more advanced than your typical plugin. To get Elementor working, you’ll need first to install an activated. It’s essential with any plug-in.

Once complete, we need to navigate into the settings panel that you can visit if you’d like. But it’s not mandatory. Now we head straight into the WordPress pages, then create a new one. Automatically you notice at the top of the page it says “edit with elementor.”

Then once you click that button, your life will change forever. No but seriously, you’ll enter into the Elementor user face.

Elementor Interface

  1. You’ll see the main canvas on the right side should be just a simple white page. But this is where all of your ideas can come to life.
  2. On the left-hand side, you’ll notice the available elements.
  3. In the top left-hand, you’ll see the sandwich menu; this is where you can access the main settings of Elementor.
  4. In the bottom left you a notice that is the global settings of the page that you’re working on
  5. The arrow that’s going in a circle counterclockwise is the revision history of the page.
  6. The monitor to the right of that allows you to switch devices from desktop, tablet, and mobile.
  7. Then to the right of that, you’ll notice the eye once click; this will allow you to preview the changes or you make it live.
  8. Lastly, you’ll see a giant green button that says publish, of course, this will allow you to post your work.

To Begin Building Your First Page With Elementor, You Need To Understand How The Page Structure Hierarchy Works.

  • First, a page can have any number of sections inside of it.
  • Then each of those sections can have one or more columns inside of it.
  • Inside of each of those columns, it can house one or more of the content elements.
  • Last but not least, each of the content elements can be stylized.

So it breaks down like this:

Page → Sections → Columns → Content → Styling

So let’s get started, you have the choice to either add a pre-made template or include a blank section.

New section in Elementor

In that section, you can add columns and then aggregate these columns with content with the simple drag-and-drop feature of the specific block that you would like. Of course, you can rearrange everything inside of the section with the dragon drops feature.

Next, when you have the element of your choice in place, you can proceed to click on it to adjust the details. Inside every aspect, three primary tabs will allow you to edit them, and they are content, style, and advanced.

Editing in elementor

And with this knowledge piece by piece, you can work with individual elements until you have the page of your dreams.

Overall as mentioned several times, elementor is very easy to use page builder and is free for any WordPress site. Of course, with anything, there is a learning curve to it, but once fully understood, you can begin to have a fantastic experience building pages in WordPress, especially when you start getting into some of the more advanced features that element or has to offer.

  1. Such as experimenting with something referred to as the Z-index, this allows you to bring stuff forward verses in the back.
  2. Another being customizing the on Hover state of an element, which essentially means that you are changing the appearance based on the cursor position.

The Pre-Made Templates for All WordPress Websites

  • As noted, all of the elementor design capabilities are thoroughly impressive. But what if you don’t have that design mind? Well worry not elementor makes it very easy with their pre-made templates.

When I say easy you might laugh at how simple they truly make it. There are over a hundred and fifty templates available on the free version alone and double that in the pro version.

If you’re still asking yourself, but how am I going to build an entire wordpress website with just templates? They took it a step even further and have something known as element or kits, which is a collection of templates that all follow the same unique design and aesthetic, allowing you to have a very consistent website.

    template library

Inside the Library, you’ll find all types of pages needed for websites such as your homepage, about page, landing pages, contact page and so many more. I’m just scratching the surface.

Best of all you can import the templates, tweak them to your liking until it’s perfect.

    templates

Like I mentioned before you can save any and I mean any of your own pages as templates and either reuse them on another page or share them with others by simply downloading them.

Who Would Elementor best suite? The WordPress Page Builder For The Everyday Person

One thing I need to mention is that I have been using Elementor for 2 years now so I am a little biased on the tool but nonetheless I am still impressed using the tool every day. I’ve used almost all of the primary page builder plugins available, but honestly, elementor is my favorite by far nothing compares in the market to this tool. If you would like for us to build you’re website with elementor please contact us.

Best of all Elementor is one of the easiest to use and understand right away, also on top of that it gives you so many features for free. Which not many other page Builders do.

It also has to be noted but you can create amazing page layouts and designs all without knowing any code.

So if you’re stuck using a default block editor that WordPress gives you, look no further Elementor is the answer. In my opinion, elementor is for those of us who want to create amazing pages for your website without actually being a designer.

To Conclude This Elementor Review for the Best WordPress Page Pubilder.

By now, you might be wondering, is Elementor better than the competition and should I use it myself?

Well, let’s take a look at the market; this is the only way to understand where it sits and see what other page Builders are out there. Right now, elementary has two large competitors, one being beaver Builder and Divi Builder.

All of these tools are amazing in their league; it just depends on personal preference and the sort of features that are most important to you and how those features are delivered.

The one thing That makes Elementor top all of Its Competitors, is Their price.

Yes, there is a pro version to Elementor that you can get like we stated before, but you can get mostly everything for free. Divi and Beaver Builder do not have this capability; everything is behind a paywall, which makes Elementor the top option for anyone who’s looking for a fantastic page builder and is on a budget.

Here are the pros of using Elementor over competitors. For starters, it’s free, and if you’re just starting your website, there’s no need to upgrade to the pro version. It has a vast amount of features elements that are so simple to understand and use. Elementor allows you to build amazing layouts; they might not be possible with your current theme, and it doesn’t require any coding knowledge. Another feature is it allows you to modify mobile, tablet, and desktop versions, as I’m sure most of you are aware 60% of traffic is mobile users, and having a builder that supports the feature is not something to take lightly. To conclude this Elementor review, I have to say it is one of the best drag-and-drop WordPress page Builders on the market and should be your go-to.

As we mentioned, there are other Alternatives, but nothing can beat elementor as of now; it makes it so beginner-friendly and doesn’t force you to upgrade, so personally Elementor for us is a no brainier.

Before we get into the meat and potatoes I want everyone on the same page, so below will be a brief introduction. This tutorial is using the basic WordPress initial setup. If you are using Elementor, Beaver Builder, WP Bakery or other WordPress page builders this may not apply. But you can still check to see if this helps.

If you need help on how to install Elementor we have a tutorial here.

What Is A WordPress Footer?

The Footer is simply a term to describe the bottom of a web page. Typically it contains information about copyright, privacy policy as well as some credits. The footer may also include some lines of code and script that sometimes a developer would include.

Sometimes most themes may add a widget area that can be utilized to add widgets that can use. Such as picture text box and other elements. It can even break into multiple columns that can be utilized for all types of purposes. At the end of the day, the footer is one of the major elements when it comes to any WordPress site.

Footer section

Edit The Text On The Footer

Now we get into editing and adding some elements onto the Footer of your WordPress site. Let us begin with the basics of adding and editing the text inside the footer. Just for a simple understanding of our users. Here’s a couple of reasons why you might be interested in wanting to add and edit the WordPress footer texts.

Why integrate texts on the footer?

  1. You can let the users be aware of the ownership by adding a simple copyright section in the footer
  2. Also helps with branding and promoting your company through credits inside the footer
  3. Lastly, you can include your site’s privacy policy in the footer which is something very important these days.

You can begin to add these elements simply by adding the codes to display them in the footer. Check out the visuals below to get a simple step-by-step instruction.

Editing Footer

First log into your WordPress account then find the option for appearance and click on the editor.

Footer php

You will then be redirected to the edit themes page. Now take a look to the right-hand side and choose the option in the Theme Footer to customize the codes in footer.php.

Footer theme

A little sweet tip. While you can find the codes right here on most themes, some might have added it to a different section. In the theme-Twenty-Seventeen that we are using. You have to go to the Template-Parts then on Footer and again on site-info to display the code to be customized.

Now that we have found the codes we are going to change, go ahead and edit them. Echo your links and add everything that you want in there. Here’s a small example of how the codes should look after you’ve finished up. After all said and done make sure to click Update.

You can then proceed to view the footer on the live site. The newly added edits will be displayed in the footer section like the one we displayed above. In the image above you can see our company is displayed as the creditors. Of course, this won’t be the case for you. You can add whatever information you would like displayed there.

Adding Widgets to Your WordPress Website

Now that we are adding all the information and extra details we desire. We’re going to begin adding some simple widgets on the WordPress footer. We’ll start off by showing you how to edit the WordPress footer section.

SIDE NOTE:

Here’s just to show the users, we are using a footer widget area friendly theme -Astra Theme. We will begin by logging into our WordPress site and redirecting over to the dashboard.

You can now go ahead and follow the image about we click on Appearance and then we proceed by clicking Customize. This will redirect you to the theme customizer.

Now we can go ahead and select the Footer Settings. This will display the footer options that we have available that the theme has provided to the users.

For the free version of the theme we can add up to about Four Widgets. So then we’ll go ahead and select the number of the footer sidebars that you want and then we proceed by clicking Publish to save the changes.

Once we have done this we can now go head and add the widgets. Well go to the Widget section on the theme customizer. You can go ahead and select the sidebar where you want to add the widgets and add away to your leisure.

Last but not least you can add widgets. You can go ahead and type the widgets that you want into the search bar or just take a look around inside and see what would be the best fit for you. You can then reorder them by simply clicking and dragging them around once you’ve achieved your desired results click that small Publish button. Also a small pro tip you can remove and widget that you don’t like just by clicking the red delete option.

This then brings an end to this tutorial on how to edit the WordPress footer and the additional information of adding text and widgets into the footer. We wish by now that you have a general understanding of how you can do this by yourself. So go ahead and give this a shot yourself.

One of the many things that you want to accomplish when building a new word press website. Creating your first page will be one of the main things that you’ll have to face. Then add them to your menu, this takes a few steps but we’re here to help you. This will teach the basics of how to create your first WordPress page and then add it to the menu. In other posts, you can learn more about adding posts to your navigation menu. Also, other things about tags but that will come soon. With this repetition will be your best friend and you’ll get the hang of things very quickly.

Login to Your WordPress Website

So the first thing that we want to do is log into your word press website. Once you’re inside the main dashboard you want to click on the “pages” tab on the left-hand menu. Once you click on the “pages” this will take you to all your pages that are on the website. WordPress comes with built-in pages. This is also where you will find all the pages that you will build during the construction of your website.

First WordPress page
Learn how to create new WordPress page

Now we begin adding the page. Next what we want to do is to look toward the top left of the page. You’ll see the “Add New” button at the top of the page this is how you will add a new page. Which will have the WordPress editor and all its original settings that come with a standard WordPress page. But in another post, I will share how you can install an editor and make this process a lot easier.

Adding First WordPress Page
Adding first WordPress Page

Once populated you can enter a title at the top of the page. There should be a box to allow you to do so. But right below that, there will be an editor where you can enter text for your page and insert images, as well but when you’re filling out the page you’ll notice that there’s a perm link field this will appear directly underneath the title which is what will show up in the URL. If you don’t like it you can always edit it. Here’s a link on how to do just that. WordPress will automatically determine the URL based on the setting that is selected inside the Settings > Permalinks.

Editing first WordPress Page
Editing first WordPress Page
Once your page is set up with a title and text in the body, you’re ready to click the blue “publish” button. It should be in the top right-hand corner once you click this will make the page live to the public.
But it might or might not show up in your navigation menu depending on how it’s set up. But we can configure that now, what you will need to do is. Head over to the Appearance tab in the menu appearance > menu

Then once inside of the menu tab, you’ll need to create a new menu at the top of the page there will be a hyperlink saying “create a new menu” you’ll need to click this and then it will bring you into adding your first menu.

You need to come up with a name but something like “menu” Home menu” something simple will always work because no one will be seeing the name expect for you and other people who have access to the dashboard but once that’s all done go ahead and click on “create menu.”

Finally, once the menu and page are now created we will want to navigate our eyes to the left side inside the menu page still and located our pages. Once found we will checkmark the page that we previously built then right below we will select “Add to Menu” once this is all set up we now have our first page, with our first menu. So moving forward if we wanted to create more pages you wouldn’t go create a new menu for each and everyone one… What you would do is just go to the initial menu you made and just add more pages to it.

Now you have learned how to create your first page and add this page to your first menu with your WordPress website. If you have any questions or need any help developing your very own WordPress Website, don’t hesitate to Contact Us!
